Osvaca was born from the merger of three companies which knew the meat sector at different levels:

Ramadera la Vall del Tenes, S.L., which was dedicated to acquiring, rearing and fattening calves and supplying them for slaughter, Carns Granollers, S.A., which slaughtered young cattle at the Granollers abattoir and distributed them to small butchers, and Pitança, S.A., specialising in the buying, selling and production of pork.

In this way Osvaca was born and began great activity trading in young cattle and meat, and also increasing the number of farms included in the company.

With the volume of production reached, the Board of Directors was encouraged to go ahead with buying the Escorxador Sabadell SA in January 1998, an abattoir with a capacity for slaughtering 500 young cattle a day – approximately 120,000kg of meat.Since then its headquarters has been in Sabadell.

In July 2001 the company Pitança, S.A. sold its shares, which were bought by the four partners who currently lead the company.
